The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education which is also known as WBBSE came into existence 68 years ago on May 3, 1951. Initially, when the board was established, it had two basic tasks to do i.e., to regulate and develop secondary education in West Bengal State and the second was to conduct school examination. The board started functioning by conducting board examination in 1270 high schools in the state which now has reached to 10238 schools at present.
The WB Board has also started publication of textbooks along with the approval to books from private authors and introduction of books in tribal languages. The board has always tried to be friendly by providing helplines during the examination, operating all examination related work given to the four regional offices instead of teachers of different schools.
The board examination of the 10th class was ended on February 22 and the board has decided that the result will be announced in May 2019. The result will be published online and the students will be able to collect their mark sheet on the same day at the allotted center from their teachers.

West Bengal Board 10th class result declaration
This year the board examination for the 10th class was ended little earlier than the last year which is why there is a possibility that the result of the 10th class of WB Board may be announced in the last week of May 2019. Last year the result was announced on June 6, 2018.
As the number of students is increasing in the WB Board every year, the process of checking copies and gathering marks data can be time taking. However, the WB Board has ensured to make the process smooth and easy so that the announcement of the result can be made on time.
The West Bengal Board will announce the result and publish it online on their official website at www.wbbse.org or www.wbresults.nic.in. The students can check and download their result for future purpose. However, the students can receive their original mark sheet on the same day of result announcement from their respective school teachers at the allotted centers.
Steps to check West Bengal Board 10th Class Result
Though the WB Boar has made sure that the students have to face any difficulty while checking their result. However, in the excitement of result, the students may make mistakes or find it difficult. Which is why we are providing some simple steps given below for making the process easy for the students:
- Step 1: First the students need to visit the official website at www.wbbse.org or www.wbresults.nic.in. Along with these two official links, there are some third-party websites too which will be publishing the result.
- Step 2: Then look for the link related to the result and click on the on it. There students will see a new page where students need to fill the basic information such as roll number or registration number or DOB.
- Step 3: In this page students will be able to see their result. From here, students can download it and take a print out of it for future requirements.
West Bengal Board 10th class Re-checking/ Re-evaluation
When the students study so hard and still doesn’t get the result they have expected, the West Bengal Board offers them a chance of re-checking or re-evaluating their examination copies to make sure that the marks they got are correct and there aren’t any mistakes in checking copies or calculating marks.
The students can apply for re-checking or re-evaluating online and the result of it will be published online on the official website of West Bengal Board.
West Bengal Board 10th Class Supplementary examination 2019 result
Even if after re-checking or re-evaluating the copies, the students are not satisfied with their marks, the WB board gives them another opportunity by appearing for the supplementary examination. Basically, the supplementary examination is being conducted for those students who failed the board examination by failing in 1 or 2 subjects. So in that scenario, the students can reappear for the examination and can try to pass the class in the same year.
The process of Supplementary examination is the same as the main board examination except for the registration. The result of the supplementary examination will also be published online and the students can check their result by following the same steps given above in this article.
West Bengal Board 10th class toppers list 2018
In 2018, there were a total of 11.03 lakh students appeared for the board examination and only 85.49% students were able to pass the examination. The highest passing percentage of the students were recorded in East Midnapore district with 96.10% whereas the lowest passing percentage was recorded in Jalpaiguri district with 63.80%.
