UGC-NET June 2019 Registration

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the National Eligibility Test (NET) for the candidates who wish to have their future as Research Fellow or Assistant Professor or both in the Indian universities or Colleges.

The NTA has started conducting NET examination recently from December 2018. Before then, the CBSE used to conduct this examination for 84 subjects at 91 cities across India.

NTA is an independent autonomous testing organization which was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. However, the Government of India has entrusted NTA for conducting UGC-NET examination.

This year the NTA will be conducting UGC-NET examination in June between 20th – 28th in the various cities in India for which the registration process has already been started.

Mode of Examination

  • The examination will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) only. This is the first time the UGC-NET examination will be conducted as an online mode. Previously the examination was conducted in offline mode.
  • The examination will consist of two papers of objective type questions. It is important to know that there will be no break between the two papers of the examination.

Examination Schedule

The NTA will conduct the UGC-NET examination in two shifts at the various test centers in India:

Candidates are requested to reach the examination center 1 hour before the commencement of the examination with all the necessary documents. Any late entry won’t be entertained at the examination center.

Qualification ·      Candidates passed Masters Degree/Equivalent with 55% marks.

·      The Ph.D. degree holders passed with 50%, who completed their Master’s degree before September 19, 1991.

·      Candidates pursuing a final year of Masters degree/ Equivalent are eligible to apply. However, need to pass the Masters degree with 55% marks within 2 years of qualifying NET examination.

·      Candidates passed Masters Degree/Equivalent with 55% marks.

·      The Ph.D. degree holders passed with 50%, who completed their Master’s degree before September 19, 1991.

·      Candidates pursuing a final year of Masters degree/ Equivalent are eligible to apply. However, need to pass the Masters degree with 55% marks within 2 years of qualifying NET examination.

Exemption ·      SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Transgender candidates passed with 50% marks in Masters Degree/Equivalent. ·      Candidates who have passed UGC/CSIR/JRF before 1989 doesn’t require to appear in the NET examination.

·      Candidates who have passed the SET examination before June 1, 2002, doesn’t need to appear in the NET examination and can apply for Assistance Professor anywhere in India.

Application Fee

The candidates can pay the NET examination Fee through Debit card/ Credit Card/ Net-Banking upto 11:50 pm. or through e-challan upto bank hours of April 1, 2019.

However, please note that the processing charges and GST has to pay by the candidates while applying online for the NET examination.

The details of Fee according to the different categories are given below:

  • General/Unreserved: Rs. 800/-
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC)-(NCL)/ Economically Weaker Section (EWS): Rs. 400/-
  • SC/ST/PwD/Transgender: Rs. 200/-

Instruction for filling an online application form

Before applying online for the UGC-NET June 2019, the candidates must ensure that they have necessary documents ready which will be required to fill an application form. Below we are providing a list of documents required:

  • Qualification Details
  • Aadhar Card/ Bank A/c Number/ Passport Number/ Ration Card/ Other Govt. ID
  • Certificate of Category/ EWS/ PwD
  • Scanned copy of Passport size photograph in JPG/JPEG format. The size of the photograph should be between 10kb – 200kb.
  • Scanned copy of signature with a size between 4kb – 30kb.
  • A valid email ID and phone number on which the communication will be done.
  • For paying online the candidates must have a valid Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking account.

How to apply

Candidates applying for UGC-NET June 2019 need to follow the steps given below while filling an application form online:

  • Step 1: Login to NTA website at www.ntanet.nic.in and click on “Apply Online” Button available on the home page.
  • Step 2: Fill the registration page and note down the system generated Application number.
  • Step 3: In the second page the candidates need to upload the image of a scanned photograph and signature in JPG/JPEG format.
  • Step 4: Fill all the details related to the qualification and personal details.
  • Step 5: After filling all the details, candidates will be redirected to the payment page where they can make payments using SBI/HDFC/Syndicate/ICICI Payment Gateway (Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking e-challan).
  • Step 6: After successful completion of payment, the candidate can take a printout of the Application form for the future purpose.

The NTA will also send the details related to the Application number, OTP and final confirmation of submission through SMS and email separately to the candidates.
