TNTET – 2019 Registration

Tamilnadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) is being conducted by the Tamil Nadu Government for the candidates who seek their future as a teacher in the Tamil Nadu state under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 (RTE Act). The official notification regarding the TNTET examination has been released by the Teacher Recruitment Board (TRB) on February 28, 2019, at the official website.

The application procedure will commence from March 15, 2019, and the examination date for Paper I and Paper II will be told afterward. The interested candidates will have an option to “apply online” only, no other option of filling an application is available.

Eligibility Criteria for TNTET 2019

Minimum Qualifications required in TNTET Paper-I (for classes I-V) Minimum Qualifications required in TNTET Paper-II (for classes VI-VIII)
·      12th/equivalent with 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year diploma in Elementary Education.

·      12th/equivalent with 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of B.El.Ed.

·      12th/equivalent with 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year diploma in Special Education.

·      Graduation with 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of B.Ed.

·      Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year diploma in Elementary Education.

·      Graduation with 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of B.Ed.

·      12th/equivalent with 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years of B.El.Ed.

·      12th/equivalent with 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed.

Application Fee

The candidates can pay the fee online using payment gateway such as Net banking/Credit Card/Debit Card. The Board will not accept any kind of Offline mode of payment such as Demand Draft, challan or postal order etc.

The candidates who want to apply for both paper have to pay for each paper separately. Below are the details of the Application fee of TNTET:

  • General/Other Backward Classes (OBC)-(NCL): Rs. 500/-
  • SC/ST/PwD/SCA: Rs. 250/-

Instruction for filling an Online Application Form

Before applying online for TNTET 2019, the candidate needs to make sure that they keep their necessary details handy required to fill for an online Application Form. Below are the details of the documents required:

  1. Qualification Certificate
  2. Category Certificate
  3. Scanned copy of Passport size photograph in JPG/JPEG format. The size of the photograph should be between 20kb – 60kb.
  4. Scanned copy of signature with a size between 10kb – 30kb.
  5. A Valid Email ID and phone number. The email Id should be kept alive till the declaration of result.

How to apply

Candidates applying for TNTET 2019 can apply online by following the simple steps given below:

  • Step 1: Firstly, login to TNTET website at www.trb.tn.nic.in and click on “Apply Online” Button available on the home page.
  • Step 2: In the second page the candidates need to upload the image of a scanned photograph and signature in JPG/JPEG format.
  • Step 4: After uploading the photograph and signature now fill all the details related to the qualification and personal details.
  • Step 5: Now, candidates will be redirected to the payment page where they can make payments using Payment Gateway (Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking).
  • Step 6: After successful completion of payment, the candidate can take a printout of the Application form for the future purpose.

General Instruction

  1. The candidates need to pay separately for both the paper.
  2. Candidates secured with 60% marks in TNTET will be issued Pass Certificate However, there is a provision of giving relaxation of 5% to the reserved category.
  3. TNTET certificate will be valid for 7 years.
