JEE (Advanced) – 2019 Registration

Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced (JEE – Advanced) previously known as IIT JEE is a common entrance examination for the candidates who seek their future as an engineer in the best Engineering Institutes in India. There are a total of 23 IITs which take participation in the admission process of JEE – Advanced. However, there are other institutes also which accepts the score of JEE – Advanced for the admission.

JEE – Advanced is being conducted in various test centers in India and as well as Abroad and is considered to be the most difficult examination in the world.

Those candidates who have passed the IIT – Main examination will be eligible to appear for the JEE – Advanced examination. This year the organizing Institute of JEE – Advanced is IIT Roorkee and the examination will be conducted on May 27, 2019 (Monday) at various test centers in India and Abroad.

JEE – Advanced 2019 Eligibility Criteria

There are 5 criteria for appearing in the JEE – Advanced which every candidate need to fulfill. Below are the details:

A. Performance in JEE (Main) 2019: For appearing in JEE – Advanced, the basic criteria is to be in the top 2,45,000 students. However, the pass percentage for reserved candidates are given below:

  • OBC-NCL – 27%
  • SC – 15%
  • ST – 7.5%
  • PwD – 5%
  • GEN-EWS – 4%

B. Age Limit: Candidate should be born on or after October 1, 1994.

  • Age relaxation (SC,ST,Pwd) : 5 years

C. Number of Attempts: The candidates can attempt twice for two consecutive years i.e., 2018 & 2019.

D. Appearance in class XII: The candidates who have appeared in XII class for the first time in either in 2018 or 2019 are eligible to apply. Also, candidates who appeared in XII class in 2017 but their result got declared after the June 2017 are also eligible to apply.

E. Earlier admission at IITs: A candidate should not be admitted before in any IIT or accepted a seat in any IIT or whose admission got canceled after joining any IIT are not eligible to apply.

Foreign Candidates:

Candidates who don’t belong to PIO/OCI category are foreign candidates. 10% of total seats are reserved for foreign candidates.

Mode of Examination

The mode of examination will be Computer Based only and no other mode of examination will be available for the candidates.

Examination Schedule

The IIT Roorkee will conduct the JEE-Advanced examination in two shifts at the various test centers in India and abroad:

Both papers are compulsory. Also, it is important for the candidates to know that even if the day of the examination will be declared public holiday, the schedule will remain the same.

Application Fee

The candidates can pay the Examination Fee of JEE- Advanced through Debit card/Credit Card, Net Banking and through bank challan before May 9, 2019. However, please note that the processing charges and GST has to pay by the candidates while applying online for JEE – Advanced 2019 examination.

How to Apply

The candidates can apply online for JEE – Advanced on the official website by following the simple steps given below:

  • Step 1: Firstly the candidates need to visit the official website of JEE (Advanced) at https://jeeadv.ac.in/.
  • Step 2: On the home page of the website, there is a link “Online Registration for JEE (Advanced) 2019” and “Click Here”. clink on it and it will take you to a new page.
  • Step 3: There are two columns given for the registration, one for Foreign candidates and other for the candidates cleared the JEE (Main) 2019.
  • Step 4: The candidates need to register themselves by providing the basic information, On the successful registration, a system generated password will appear, which will be used further in the online application.
  • Step 5: Once the registration will be completed, the candidates have to fill the remaining details such as JEE (Main) 2019 score, etc.
  • Step 6: After filling all the details, the candidates have to pay the application fee online.
  • Step 7: Once all the steps have been completed, the application process will be complete, the candidates can download it and take a printout of it for future purpose.
