CTET 2018 Exam Date

Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET) 2018 exam date has been announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSC), Delhi. According to the official website of the CTET the 2018 exam will be conducted on Sunday, December 9, 2018. The exam will be conducted in 92 cities across the country.

Examination Papers

There will be 2 papers of CTET:

  • Paper 1 will be for candidates who intents to be a teacher for classes I to V.
  • Paper 2 will be for candidates who intents to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

NOTE: A candidate who intents to be a teacher for both the levels i.e, classes I to V and VI to VIII will have to appear in the both the papers.

Paper 1:

Child Development and Pedagogy 30 MCQs 30 marks
Language I (compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 marks
Language II (compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 marks
Mathematics 30 MCQs 30 marks
Environmental Studies 30 MCQs 30 marks
Total 150 MCQs 150 marks

Paper 2:

Child Development & Pedagogy(compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 marks
Language I (compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 marks
Language II (compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 marks
Mathematics and Science (for Mathematics and Science teacher) 60 MCQs 60 marks
Social Studies/Social Science (for Social Studies/Social Science teacher) 60 MCQs 60 marks
Total 150 MCQs 150 marks

Examination Language

The CTET 2018 examination will be conducted in all Indian language i.e, English, Hindi, Assamese, Bangla, Garo, Gujarati, Kanada, Khasi, Malyalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Mizo, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu,Tibetan & Urdu.

The candidates can opt any two languages in which they wish to appear in the examination. However, main question paper will be Bilingual (Hindi/English).

Schedule of Examination

Paper Timing Duration
Paper 1 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM 2.30 hrs
Paper 2 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM 2.30 hrs

The candidates shall report at the Examination Centre 90 minutes before the commencement of the examination. Candidate report at the examination centre after 9:30 AM shall not be allowed to sit in Paper II and candidate report after 2:00 PM shall not be allowed to sit in Paper I.

Admit card

The candidates may download the Admit Card from CTET official website (www.ctet.nic.in) and appear for the examination at the given Centre.
